PechaKucha 20x20

Hello Guys:)
I've got an extra task for you, for extra points.
Have you heard of PechaKucha ???
I took part in such an event the previous week.
Your task is to check what it is and present your point of view.Give links to interesting sites that present it. What do you think of this new trend? I liked it a lot?
Have Fun!

  2. It's a kind of a presentation consisting of 20 slides presented for 20 seconds each. After that there's time for discussions.

Fixed time amount and slide number encourages presenters to focus their messages and not waste time.

In my opinion it's a nice idea tho I've never attended one.

(sorry for the comment removal, damn typos ;) )

  4. PechaKucha (pronounced peCHAtchka) was devised in Tokyo 2003, the name is taken from a Japanese term for the sound of conversation ("chit-chat") invented by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham.
It sounds like a good idea. Speakers have to plan very carefully and rehearse repeatedly to make sure their speech is going to synchronize correctly with the slides ( 20 images and each one is shown for exactly 20 seconds and then flips automatically in 20 seconds ) which makes for a more polished speech. They have to edit mercilessly to boil their subject matter down to 400 seconds, which makes it more interesting and dynamic. And if u will dislike PPT...well, you don't have to wait very long for them to go away!

  5. Too bad that our lecturers aren't so interested in such way of presentation.

It's nice idea but for me ideal presentation it's something more than limitation of time and slides count. Take a look Italy Talgam presentation about leadership to get my point of view.

  6. 20 slides in 20 minutes - thats PechaKucha.
Sounds cool, but... what's rally new here?

I think PechaKucha is just good for lite and funny topics. Not for serious presentations.
It can be mixed with beer... but then discussion could be very indeterministic ;)

  7. it's 20 slides which we watch for 20 seconds each - connected with apropriate music it can be very convinsing and leads to important discussion. And I think it's very good for serious presentations because nothing can move people better than a good picture with good music for this...
