Since centuries, no, thousand of years humankind is developing themselves. It's being made by improving our life to be less difficult and more comfortable. We put our mind onto technology, electricity, various fuel usage but we still forget about something... or someone.
The thing I'd like to take under attention is self development. We're developing so much and we tend to forget about improving our personal, social or business life. By that I mean doing what I love, realizing our needs, making our dreams come true. Being spontanious, doing crazy things which we always wanted to do or didn't want but it would be fun to do it.
Have you taken a trip just like that? You sit in an armchair and see the beauty of nature, sea, ocean, mountains, lakes and think - 'It would be so much fun to go there now.' Just go. A few minutes online to find the right train, pack up little bag, take some money and go.
Yea, little things. During the next few days I'll be presenting some notes about developing ourselves, how can we take more from life and give back, finding new ideas in everyday life.
To start off let me introduce you Apple's CEO Speech, which was presented at Stanford University to the graduates - Class of 2005.
What's your opinion? Great, sad, lame?
Also, please let me know what subjects would interest you the most. I'll do my best to prepare them ASAP.

I think it's a great topic, I'm looking toward to it.
ReplyDeleteMy dad always tells me "You don't have to know everything, no one knows everything. Specialize in some area and don't be average in what you do, do everything you can to be the best."
Yeah, We all want to take such trip but We have to participate regularly in the blog discussions, presenting our opinions and ideas for a credit.
ReplyDeleteOf course we all like to participate in the blog discussions ;p
These days too many people just concentrate on earning good money. They choose the schools to have a good job, not just because they are interested in it.
ReplyDeleteBut how can you be good at something if you do not like it? How can you be happy if you do only mundane tasks every day? No time for your passions, no time, or even worse, the desire to do something extraordinary or just out of the blue?
Beautiuful speech! A funny thing is how some general rules don't change for ages, for example memonto mori...
ReplyDeleteI love the way he's comparing work to relationship. If you really love what you do, you should never give up. Love is too important to abandon it. Otherwise you simply cannot fully live your life and be happy.
I totally agree, sometimes people just stuck in one silly work-eat-sleep loop. Fortunately, I think, nowadays more people understood that money is not enough. And as soon as they realized that, they try to fix it... hopefully, when it's not to late.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, that speech was cool.
The most important thing is the possibility to take control of your life and live it just like you want. When you have that opportunity it’s your decision whether use it or not. You write about developing ourselves but it’s also good to have in mind people who can’t do that. People who are forced by government to do thing against their will or people who has more serious problems e.g. gaining money for food. It’s good to do what you like but it’s even better to have the opportunity to do it.
ReplyDeleteit's better to regret for doing something than not
ReplyDeleteSpeech of Steve Jobs was great. I watch this many times it is very interesting and inspirational. But to make such journey as Apple's CEO you must to have luck :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, great indeed. This reminds me a speech about success published once on Ted.com. I encourage You to search this lecture on "things successful people have in common".
ReplyDeleteYeah it's great thing - once I did this what you write about - I saw Paris on TV and in one I decided to go there - it was so easy just book a flight pack some things and go... This was the best trip of my life and I will never forget this because I met a lot of great people.
ReplyDeleteIt's imprortant to do what you like/love but without hurting other people - you will always remember this moments.
